...

I'm beginning to see a pattern in my journal writing habits, online and on paper. I don't even remember what it was I was going to talk about last time, either. Oh well...

My friend Bryant just got back from his mission on Wednesday! :D I've missed him a lot. I'm just glad my friends and I still have a little time to spend with him before we both head back to school again next weekend. And speaking of which, with no further ado, I present to you, my rant of the *insert period of time here.*

Ahh...it is once again time to go back to Idaho, that land of the wide open spaces, potatoes at every meal, highspeed internet, and living in the guys' dorms. Wait...what? o.O Yyyyeah. So I applied at a couple of off campus women's housing places a little over two months ago, and I assumed that since I hadn't heard anything from them at all that I had a spot and just needed to send my deposit. Well, I called the first place, and they had already been full when I applied, but I didn't get the email saying that until a week ago. Alright, I thought, no big deal, the other place surely has my spot for me. Turns out they were also full around the time I sent the application in, and it's their policy not to follow up when that's the case. By this time, all other off campus housing for women was also full. Great. Another reason to hate Beehive Manor for turning into Viking Village and housing men instead of women this year. Fortunately, because of the bigtime shortage of women's housing, the school opened up Rigby Hall, which was faculty offices last year and men's dorms before that, to house women this year. Unfortunately, I don't know how I'm going to manage only having one roommate for company, no kitchen, no private bathroom, and less freedom than living off campus. I'll manage, I suppose, it's just gonna be maddening for the first little while. :| While I will have highspeed internet, the school's filter is like Principal Trunchbull (see the movie Matilda) on a really bad day. It blocks sites that aren't even inappropriate, and blocks me from online gaming of any kind. Lame. Plus, it's back to most guys in my ward being preemies and most girls being just out of high school and who knows what else.

Still, I do take some sick pleasure in the knowledge that the owners of Beehive Manor, now Viking Village, must be kicking themselves. They switched to men's housing because they thought they'd get more tenants that way. Whereas, if they'd remained Beehive Manor, they'd probably be full right now. Sucks for them.
